Wichita schools on the rise in 6A…
Wichita Heights jumps into my top 10 in 6A for the first time this season. The Falcons join Wichita Northwest (No. 5) and Wichita East (No. 7) as the success of USD 259 on the gridiron takes hold in the state’s largest classification. Heights and Northwest are 5-1, while East is 4-2.
Down goes Centralia!
After sitting firmly at No. 2 in 1A for weeks on end, Centralia was defeated handily by Garden Plain (which jumps into my top 10 for 2A). This drops the Panthers all the way to No. 8 and bumps Marion into the slot right behind St. Mary’s Colgan. The Warriors are 6-0 after a 32-14 win over Council Grove.
Is 8M-II back to normal?
Slowly but surely, Canton-Galva has clawed its way back into the No. 2 spot in 8M-II after suffering a 42-40 loss to Little River in the season opener. The move follows Kinsley’s first defeat at the hands of South Central, 44-14. For those who don’t like change, normalcy has been restored for the Eagles.
