Media Poll Votes: Post-Week 2
No changes to the No. 1 teams in each classification.
Every week during the Kansas high school football regular season, I submit my media poll votes and share them with my X followers and Railer Report subscribers. Storylines for key rankings decisions can be found below.
The gauntlet of 3A…
Spots two through four in 3A are easily the most contested, for me, in the Sunflower State right now. Cheney, Topeka Hayden, and Wichita Collegiate have already built impressive resumes through two weeks. Any order of these teams in those spots would make complete sense to me.
5A provides entertainment!
There was a massive rearrangement in my 5A rankings this week as Maize, De Soto, and Blue Valley Southwest all lost. Goddard Eisenhower skyrockets into the top 10 with a thumping of Salina Central, Maize South continues to rise, and Kapaun Mt. Carmel trails Mill Valley (for now, at least).
8M-I calibration?
Little River fell three spots in my rankings this week after impressive results from Meade (20-point win over Hodgeman County) and West Elk, which has outscored its opponents 126-14. There’s plenty still to be sorted out in this classification. Expect Little River to take a leap with a win this week.
